Dosing Guidelines for Brigatinib (Alunbrig)
Standard Dosage and Administration
Initial Dosage
For the first 7 days of treatment, the recommended dose is 90 mg taken orally once daily.
Dosage Escalation
If the initial 90 mg dose is well tolerated, the dose may be increased to 180 mg taken orally once daily starting on day 8.
Administration Method
Tablets should be swallowed whole with warm water. Brigatinib may be taken with or without food, based on individual gastrointestinal tolerance.
Dosage Adjustments
For Adverse Reactions
In the event of severe side effects, a physician may recommend temporarily suspending treatment. After symptom resolution, treatment may be restarted at a reduced dose (e.g., 60 mg).
For Drug Interactions
Dose adjustment may be required when co-administered with certain drugs that affect liver enzymes (e.g., some antibiotics or antifungals).
Important Precautions During Treatment
Consistent Dosing
Patients are advised to take brigatinib at the same time each day to maintain stable blood drug concentrations.
Missed Dose Management
If a dose is missed and the next scheduled dose is imminent, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the regular time. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.
Vomiting Management
If vomiting occurs after taking a dose, no additional dose should be administered. Resume the next scheduled dose at the regular time.
