Update: 12 Mar,2026 Source: Haiou Health Views: 70

Strict Contraindications

The following groups must not use this medication under any circumstances:

Patients with a known hypersensitivity to any component of this drug (specific ingredients are listed on the packaging).

Breastfeeding females (including during breastfeeding and for one week after stopping treatment).

Use with Caution

Patients with Mild to Moderate Liver Dysfunction

Two conditions must be met for use:

Must be used only after written approval from a physician.

Regular monitoring of liver function indices is required during treatment (typically via blood tests every month).

Special Population Considerations

Contraception

Females of childbearing potential must practice dual contraception from the start of treatment until at least one month after stopping. This includes both oral contraceptives and physical barrier methods (e.g., condoms), as it is unknown if lenvatinib affects the efficacy of regular contraceptives.

Pregnancy

There is insufficient safety data for pregnant women. Lenvatinib is contraindicated during pregnancy unless, in exceptional cases, the treating physician determines the maternal therapeutic need far outweighs the potential fetal risk.

Lactation

Although it is unclear whether the drug enters breast milk, to avoid potential harm to the infant, breastfeeding should be discontinued for the duration of treatment. Resume breastfeeding 7 days after the last dose.

Fertility

Lenvatinib may affect fertility in both men and women. Long-term use may reduce fertility probability (the specific extent is currently under research).

Severe Nephropathy

Patients with a severely decreased renal function (indicated by renal insufficiency reports) are not recommended to use this drug.

Minors

Prohibited for use in adolescents and children under 18 years of age, as there is no relevant research data available.

Elderly Patients

75 years of age and younger: No dosage adjustment is required.

Over 75 years of age: Use with extreme caution due to the limited availability of relevant research data.
