Update: 09 May,2026 Source: Bigbear Views: 121

Cabozantinib cannot cure cancer. Cabozantinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that is currently approved for the treatment of the following types of cancer:

1. Advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer)

2. Advanced renal cell carcinoma, as a first-line treatment in combination with nivolumab (Opdivo)

3. Hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), for patients who have previously received treatment with sorafenib (Nexavar)

4. Advanced or metastatic differentiated thyroid cancer, for patients whose disease has progressed following vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR)-targeted therapy, and who are refractory to or intolerant of radioactive iodine therapy

5. Pancreatic and extra-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET and epNET)

The role of Cabozantinib is to delay cancer progression and extend the survival time of cancer patients. Its specific efficacy depends on the type of cancer the patient has and the stage of its progression.

Patients typically need to take Cabozantinib continuously until cancer progression occurs, or until intolerable side effects or other adverse reactions necessitate discontinuation of the medication.
