Serious side effects of Mitotane
If you experience any of the following side effects while taking Mitotane, seek medical attention immediately:
1. Common side effects (higher probability of occurrence)
Darkening of the skin, diarrhea, dizziness or lightheadedness, drowsiness, loss of appetite, depression, nausea or vomiting, rash, unusual tiredness or weakness.
2. Uncommon side effects (lower probability of occurrence)
Blood in the urine, blurred vision, double vision (seeing two images of a single object).
3. Side effects with unknown frequency (reported, but exact frequency not known)
Abdominal bloating, chills, cloudy urine, cold sweat, confusion, dizziness, fainting or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position, feeling of warmth, fever, increased frequency of urination, headache, pelvic cramping/discomfort/pain/heaviness, nervousness, pain on urination, pulsating sensation in the ear, redness of the face/neck/arms and occasionally upper chest, slow or fast heartbeat, vaginal bleeding, changes in vision, white areas in the eyes.
Other side effects of Mitotane
Aside from the serious side effects of Mitotane, other side effects usually do not require medical treatment; these side effects may gradually disappear as your body adjusts to the medication. If the following side effects of Mitotane persist, become bothersome, or if you have any questions about them, consult your doctor:
1. Common side effects (higher probability of occurrence)
Persistent feeling of movement of self or surroundings, indigestion, passing gas (flatulence), sensation of spinning (vertigo), drowsiness.
2. Uncommon side effects (lower probability of occurrence)
Muscle aches, flushing or redness of the skin, muscle twitching.
